Throughout most of my time at school, I gave up a lot of my free time in the day and before/after school to help in the theatre, becoming a volunteer member of the small tech club in Year 7. Across my years I self taught myself the basics of working in technical theatre as I moved up through the theatre, starting by helping concerts as a stagehand to full lighting design, rigging, dimming and control in Years 10&11. Before leaving, I ran a few of my own sessions of tech club sharing my self taught knowledge about lighting fixtures and control to those who had become interested from doing shows. I also created a guide to help future students interested in the department in how to use the lighting desk (FLX S48) and to learn about the infrastructure of the theatre including 15a circuits and different types of fixtures. I was trusted by department staff at the school and could be counted on to make their stage look great.
